CLIENT
StorymakeryBRIEF
Previously a client in the tech industry, Pastiche Ventures came to UNIT to develop the brand, application skin, and interiors for their new, build-a-book storefront concept. Looking to activate children’s imaginations and encourage reading and writing skills, they created an application that allows kids to create custom stories that are printed onsite.SOLUTION
Imaginative, interchangeable characters were developed for the brand to help communicate the custom features offered in the app. Other branded elements used traditional literary and building queues, like bookmarks and gears, to communicate the retail experience. We helped create an “imagination forest” with story prompts to help spark imaginative storylines as children travel from each station to build their story. The entire store experience leverages the building narrative, from cog chandeliers to cut-out furniture that could house moveable ornaments like faucets and pipes.RESULTS
Storymakery has received rave reviews from parents and children alike. They’ve been featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County, and received accolades from The Los Angeles Times, various OC parenting blogs/magazines, and boast 4.5 star Yelp reviews. We managed to deliver an extremely creative retail environment with tight budget restrictions. With the success of their concept store, they’re looking to continue expanding the brand.CLIENT
